History
It was 1930, and the United States was in the midst of the Great Depression. Twenty-five percent of the adult population was unemployed. Despite this, a young De Pere attorney by the name of William Morris (pictured, right) saw an opportunity and opened a law firm. His practice flourished. In 1948, another local attorney, Al Vanden Heuvel (pictured, lower right), joined Mr. Morris as a partner. It was said that every business deal from Green Bay to Appleton had either Attorney Morris or Attorney Vanden Heuvel drafting the legal documents. Over the next 50 years, practicing law became more complex. The time had come for attorneys to concentrate in specific areas of the law. The firm grew, and with the passing of attorneys Morris and Vanden Heuvel the firm was ultimately renamed Stellpflug, Janssen, Hammer, Kirschling and Bartels, S.C.
In 2001, with the number of attorneys reaching 15,

the firm chose to relocate, constructing a three-story
all-brick building on the corner of 4th and Reid in De Pere.
In 2008 change continued as one of the partners became a
Brown County Judge. The firm name was changed to
Stellpflug Law, S.C.
